Programs​

26

UA's Undergraduate Programs page lists 26 degree programs and options (counting each option) across seven faculties (per UA's Admissions Guide): the Antonine School of Business (ASB) and the Faculties of Engineering and Technology, Information and Communication, Music and Musicology, Public Health, Sport Sciences and Theology; it also lists four diplomas. UA's Admissions Guide reports 29 specializations, 5.7K+ undergraduate and graduate students and 170+ international students.

Three campuses: Hadat–Baabda (the main campus, founded in 1996 by the Antonine Maronite Order), Nabi Ayla–Zahle in the Bekaa, and Mejdlaya–Zgharta in North Lebanon. Not every program is offered at every campus; UA's fee table below lists where each one is taught (its Admissions Guide differs for Music; see the fee table).

UA is a Lebanese Catholic university with institutional certification from the Swiss Agency of Accreditation and Quality Assurance (AAQ); its Music programs are separately accredited by MusiQuE and Physical Therapy by World Physiotherapy. Teaching is in English, French and, for some programs, Arabic. The UA Plus Program (extracurricular sessions, mandatory for first-year students since 2024-25: 4 sessions/year, 50 volunteer hours to graduate) and per-section admission tests are detailed in Requirements.

Application​

Application Types + Windows​

UA takes applications in sessions; each session pairs an application deadline with an entrance and placement exam date and a results date. Apply online at apply.ua.edu.lb. The application fee is $70 and the entrance exam fee is $50. An incomplete application is not considered, and applicants cannot reclaim the documents they submit. If you do not yet have every document you may still apply by uploading attachment number two only (personal ID card, individual civil status record or passport), which is mandatory.

UA's Important Dates page currently lists only the six Fall 2026 sessions below, and all have passed (UA prints them under "Academic Year 2025–26", although its academic calendar treats Fall 2026 as the start of 2026–27). UA has not yet published Spring 2027 or Fall 2027 sessions.

The Admissions Guide (2025–26 edition) gives different dates for two sessions: Session 3 with a deadline of May 13, 2026, exam May 19, 2026 and results Jun 5, 2026, and Session 4 with a deadline of Jun 29, 2026, exams Jul 2–3, 2026 and results Jul 21, 2026. The table follows the live Important Dates page.

Registration after admission (Fall 2026, as UA describes it for Session 6 admits): admitted students pay the registration fee, the first payment and any miscellaneous fees at a Bank of Beirut or Byblos Bank branch using their UA ID number (Sep 14, 2026 for Session 6); submit their documents to the NSSF (Sep 15, 2026); complete the e-clearance form; and collect the UA ID card from the Office of Information Technology (Sep 15, 2026). The Session 6 fees listed by UA are $270 (registration), $490 (first payment, deducted from total tuition), $25 (accident insurance), $15 (ID card) and, if applicable, the NSSF fee (LBP 8,400,000 or $95, payable in either currency at UA cashiers). UA's calendar also marks September 14 as a holiday (Feast of the Holy Cross). Upload any missing documents to your online application account first. Course enrollment is online through ua.edu.lb from August 17, and classes began on Sep 7, 2026. Students admitted to the Faculty of Theology pay a $70 registration fee instead of $270, and Dental Laboratory Technology students also pay a toolbox fee.

Tuition (AY 2026-2027)​

UA publishes its tuition as the "Tuition Fees, Fall 2026–27" schedule. Prices are per credit in USD and, UA says, are subject to change per semester; undergraduate students enroll in at least 12 credits. Tuition is paid in cash in USD and can be paid in installments on the dates in the academic calendar; the fee page says NSSF fees are paid in cash in LBP, while the "I've Been Admitted" page says the NSSF fee is payable in either currency.

Two UA program pages disagree with the fee schedule above: the Computer and Communications Engineering pages print $135 and $150 per credit (the fee schedule and the Undergraduate Tuition Fees page print $245 and $275), and the Theology page says 100 credits (the fee schedule and guide say 98). This page uses the fee schedule.

Scholarships​

University-offered scholarships​

UA's Admissions Guide shows "56% of student beneficiaries of financial support" (no year or base is given). The Office of Social Affairs sets these rules for financial aid discounts: applications must be submitted by the deadlines it announces; financial aid and scholarships are for undergraduate students only; discounts are granted for one academic year and applications must be renewed each year; discounts are not cumulative, and the highest applicable one is granted automatically; students must enroll in at least 12 credits per semester to stay eligible; a student who fails one course becomes ineligible for a scholarship, and one who fails two or more courses loses all granted discounts; discounts do not apply in the Summer semester.

Students who enroll at UA directly after high school may benefit from a discount on first-semester (Fall) tuition based on the general average in the Lebanese or French Baccalaureate official exams:

Scholarships by cumulative GPA at UA​

Current students receive a discount based on the cumulative GPA earned in a given semester. The thresholds differ by faculty or department, because UA reviewed the system to fit each one (the Faculty of Theology has no scale on UA's page):

Requirements​

SAT​

UA does not list the SAT among its requirements. A Math SAT score can exempt applicants from an entrance exam, and a SAT, TOEFL or IELTS score replaces UA's English placement test. Minimum SAT Math scores for the exemptions:

High-school grades​

Admission on file
for the Business Administration program, a grade of 12/20 or more in Mathematics in high school exempts the applicant from the Mathematics placement test. For the Engineering and Computer Science programs, admission on file is based on the Math (and, for Engineering, Physics) school grades.
Admission on title
for Business Administration, a total of 14/20 in the official Baccalaureate exams with at least 12/20 in Mathematics exempts the applicant from the Mathematics placement test. For Engineering and Computer Science, admission is based on an official Lebanese or French Baccalaureate score of at least 14.
Transfer admission
applicants coming from another local or foreign institution submit an official transcript with detailed course descriptions. The selection process for entrance exams depends on the grades they received, and the faculty or department Transfer Committee needs up to 2 weeks to review the transferred courses. Credited Math (and, for Engineering, specific Physics) courses can be assessed for exemption from the related exams once the Office of Orientation and Admissions and the Transfer Committee validate them.
Certificates
the Business Administration program page says applicants hold the Lebanese Baccalaureate, the French Baccalaureate or an equivalent diploma; that page also says a Math Entrance Exam is required if the Baccalaureate Math grade is below 12/20 (failing it means a Math remedial course in the first semester), whereas the Selection Criteria page describes a Mathematics Placement Test with the exemptions above. Applicants with a BT background are exempt from the Math placement test because they are already entitled to remedial courses. Engineering applicants hold a Lebanese Baccalaureate in Life Sciences or General Sciences, a Scientific French Baccalaureate or an International Baccalaureate. All applicants need a copy of the Lebanese Baccalaureate or its equivalent certified by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Undergraduate documents: two recent passport-size photos; two copies of the ID card, a recent individual civil status record or passport; a copy of the family status record; a certified transcript of school records from the last 3 years of secondary education; a copy of the Lebanese Baccalaureate or its equivalent, certified by the Ministry; scores of language proficiency tests taken outside UA (SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, etc.), if applicable; and, for transfer students only, an official transcript, a copy of college or university records and all course descriptions. UA's Admissions Guide also lets applicants apply online or on campus.

UA's Admissions Guide (2025–26 edition) lists slightly different requirements for some programs: for Music and Musicology it lists an interview only; for Physical Education and Sport a medical test rather than the cardiac stress test; for the Teaching Diploma in Music placement tests and an interview; and for Engineering and Computer Science "outstanding grades" or "specific distinction" rather than a Baccalaureate score of at least 14. This page follows UA's website pages.

UA's individual program pages also state requirements that differ from or add to the Selection Criteria page: Computer and Communications Engineering asks for a Lebanese Baccalaureate in Life Sciences or General Sciences "exclusively"; Music and Musicology asks for core practical musical skills (preparatory ear training, or a remedial program in the first semester) and two remedial bridging courses of 6 credits for holders of a musical technical baccalaureate; Nursing asks for French level B1.1 (up to 3 extra remedial credits), Technical Baccalaureate holders must first validate 12 credits in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and TS Diploma holders in Nursing with 12/20 may join the TS-Bachelor Bridging Program; Dental Laboratory Technology asks for English level B2; Physical Therapy admits on a competitive, space-available basis, with an English placement test at Hadat–Baabda or a French one at Nabi Ayla–Zahle and Mejdlaya–Zgharta, an interview and the school record; the University Diploma in Mountain Guide and Outdoor Activities asks for a bachelor's degree in any field, a nature and mountain assessment, an interview with the Dean and the Diploma Coordinator, a physical capacity test, a medical test and English B1.1; the European University Diploma for Physical Preparation asks for a bachelor's degree (Bac +3) and at least 3 years' experience in coaching; and the Teaching Diploma in Music is aimed at holders of the Music and Musicology bachelor's (Music Education Sciences concentration), others validating the prerequisite courses as remedial. Ask the Office of Orientation and Admissions which version applies.

Diplomas: the Teaching Diploma in Music and Musicology needs a Bachelor's degree in Music and Musicology, an undergraduate GPA of 2.3 or higher and an oral interview. The Teaching Diploma in Physical Education needs a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and an interview. The University Diploma in Mountain Guide and Outdoor Activities needs 3 full years of any higher-education program, the English placement test, a Physical Capacity Test, an oral interview, a cardiac stress test and a motivation letter. The European University Diploma for Physical Preparation needs 3 full years of any higher-education program and an interview.

Language proficiency​

UA assesses language proficiency through its placement tests or through a TOEFL, SAT, IELTS or DELF result. A low level entitles students to remedial courses. UA's guide announces on-campus IELTS training and testing through a partnership with the British Council. UA says applicants must reach a level of language proficiency upon graduation, depending on the program.
