BAU admits for the Fall semester in two rounds (a 1st round in February and a 2nd round in July/August) and also lists a Spring admission with its own application start and exam date. Applications are submitted through BAU's online portal, and applicants can list up to four programs in order of preference on one application. Difference between tracks
- Freshman
- A 30-credit, two-semester program (Freshman Sciences or Freshman Arts) for students, Lebanese or non-Lebanese, whose secondary certificate comes from a non-Lebanese program based on 12 years of schooling. Requires SAT I (see Requirements below) and the Ministry of Education's permission to join the Freshman class. Students must pass the BAU admission exam of their chosen major(s) to join the sophomore class.
- Sophomore (First Year)
- Direct entry for holders of the Lebanese Secondary School Certificate or an official equivalent (French Baccalaureate, Arab government secondary certificate, full IB Diploma, IGCSE/GCE, which need an equivalence from the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education). Applicants sit the admission exam of their chosen program.
- Transfer
- For students coming from recognized universities; scientific faculties require at least two completed academic semesters. Requires a certified transcript and detailed course descriptions for credit evaluation; transferred credits may not exceed 50% of the major's credits.
Each program has its own admission exam. Law, Business Administration and Science require only the English proficiency test (or an accepted equivalent). Engineering, Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences use a multiple-choice exam in thinking skills and sciences (Pharmacy, Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences add an interview). Architecture and the design programs add a drawing/oral exam and portfolio.

Tuition (AY 2026-2027)
BAU bills tuition per credit hour. The figures below are BAU's published 2026-27 schedule for new students only; the university states that fees increase by 5% annually. The PDF lists both a USD and an LBP fee per credit and does not say whether they are alternatives or combined - confirm with BAU before quoting a single per-credit figure.

Payment structure: tuition can be paid in three installments per semester (35% / 35% / 30%), due at the end of the second, seventh and twelfth week respectively. Late-payment penalties: 2% on the remaining amount of the 1st installment, 3% on the 2nd, 5% on the 3rd.

How to apply for financial aid: after registration, log in to iConnect (https://iconnect.bau.edu.lb) and complete the application for the relevant program, then email it to the address given for that aid and, for Social Financial Aid, submit the supporting documents to your Faculty Executive Administrator by the announced deadline. The Financial Aid Committee reviews files and interviews applicants, and approved aid is applied to the student's account. Merit awards (Ranking Scholarship, graduation awards) are automatic; the Lebanese Baccalaureate Scholarship requires an iConnect application.

SAT
SAT I is required only for Freshman applicants (those with a non-Lebanese 12-year secondary certificate). The Equivalence Committee of the Lebanese Ministry of Education sets the minimum total scores below. SAT waiver: Sophomore applicants - who enter directly with a Lebanese or equivalent secondary certificate - are not asked for SAT scores; "SAT I scores (if applicable)" is listed among the required documents. They sit BAU's admission exam for their chosen program instead.
High-school grades

- Official high school transcripts of Grades 10 and 11.
- Photocopy of the Single Civil Status Record (Lebanese applicants) or identity card / passport (non-Lebanese applicants).

English proficiency
All programs are taught in English, except Law, Mass Communication and Psychology (Arabic); Education programs are offered in both Arabic and English. Undergraduate applicants must show English proficiency with one of the tests below. When registering for the TOEFL iBT, use BAU code B516.
TestMinimum Score
Applicants who do not pass the BAU English Language Admission Exam must enroll in the intensive English courses offered by the Language Centre, and these must be registered before any other courses. Applicants to Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy must pass the exam with only one Intensive English course; otherwise they are not considered for admission.
