Application Types + Windows​

LAU accepts undergraduate applications for the Fall and Spring semesters. Fall admission runs in two phases. Applications are submitted online at lau.edu.lb/apply or via Common App.

Difference between application types

Freshman
For students who have completed Grade 12 and hold a high school diploma (American, IB, British system with a minimum of 6 O-levels and fewer than 3 A-levels, CEGEP completion, etc.). Permission from the Lebanese Ministry of Education's Equivalence Committee is required to enroll in the freshman program.
Sophomore
For students who hold a recognized secondary certificate after 12 years of schooling: Lebanese Baccalaureate (including the Technical Bac), French Bac, German Abitur, IB Diploma, Tawjihieh, two years of CEGEP, or British 6 O-levels + 3 A-levels.
Transfer
For students with credits from another institution. Applicants with fewer than 12 completed credits must take the SAT. Certified transcripts and catalogs from all institutions attended are required. Courses transfer with a grade of C or above.
Special Students
Eligible for admission and may take courses without working toward a degree.
Second Degree
Must apply for admission and complete all the requirements of the intended school.

LAU offers a variety of merit-based and need-based aid. Financial aid for Fall 2027 opens October 1, 2026 and closes April 30, 2027.

Requirements​

SAT​

Official SAT I scores are required for freshman applicants; sophomore applicants submit official SAT I or ACT scores. Send SAT scores through College Board with LAU code 2595 (unofficial scores can be uploaded through the application portal). LAU's ACT code is 9015.

  • Fall 2027 Phase I: take the SAT no later than October 2026. Phase II: no later than December 2026.
  • Transfer applicants with fewer than 12 credits must also submit SAT scores.
  • Strong SAT scores can qualify you for the SAT Scholarship (50% of tuition) - see the Scholarships section above.

High-school grades​

  • Official transcripts from the schools attended in the last three years, signed and sent in a sealed envelope.
  • Certified copies of official certificates or diplomas.
  • Recent passport-size color photo and a clear photocopy of your ID card or passport.
  • Photocopy of the Family Civil Status record (Lebanese and Arab nationals).
  • Official SAT I (or ACT) scores and proof of English proficiency (see below).
  • W-9S form with proof of Social Security number (US citizens and Green Card holders only).
  • Permission from the Equivalence Committee of the Lebanese Ministry of Education to enroll in the freshman program.

All applicants must demonstrate English proficiency with one of the following. LAU's TOEFL code is 2595; institutional TOEFL is not accepted.
